American Alligator is recognized worldwide as the ultimate leather.

A precious material which along with diamonds, platinum, and gold make-up the four iconic luxury materials.

It is not only Alligator’s rarity and natural beauty, but also the manufacturing precision and skill, that contribute to alligator’s elevated value.

Abas’ craftsmen have been producing alligator accessories in America for over forty years.  Our team’s skill and attention to quality are unparalleled.  Abas products demand perfection and these demands are met daily by our team.

It is the skill in producing world class luxury products from wild skins that sets Abas apart.  Alligator luxury requires that the alligator accessory be perfect, not necessarily the skin.

In fact, wild skins are not perfect and never have been.  It is the craftsman skill of working the skin that produces flawless articles.  Historically, the legacy of alligator luxury is based on mature alligators caught in their habitat.

With a population of over 1.3 million Florida alligators, less than 1% are harvested annually as a part of the state’s wildlife management programs.

Wild alligator harvesting from the habitat is highly regulated. With a population of over 1.3 million Florida alligators, less than 1% are harvested annually as a part of the state’s wildlife management programs. In this harvest, alligator meat serves as a food source and is the harvester’s primary economic incentive with the skin as a by-product.

To ensure Abas’ ability to produce world class alligator accessories, from the historical source of wild skins, Abas ownership purchased the Black Diamond Alligator Tannery in Lecanto, Florida.  Black Diamond only tans wild alligator skins under strict environmental standards. This intergraded supply chain provides Abas an extra level of quality control with a dedication to environmental welfare. All skins are sustainably sourced American Alligator from the Southeastern United States, including Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, East Texas.
