At the time, Jim was a street artisan in Cambridge, Massachusetts while Mr. Bastian had already achieved legendary stature in leather accessory manufacturing.  The original meeting was held to review a hand crafted design concept that went on to great success, winning the prestigious 1973 Leather Industry of American design award for personal leather goods.
