No. All alligator is wild-harvested across the Southeastern United States under state wildlife management programs. Alligator meat is the primary economic driver of that harvest; the skin is a byproduct.

Abas owns its tannery, so every hide is tanned in-house rather than outsourced.

Every piece is cut, stitched and finished by hand in Worcester, Massachusetts. Abas has manufactured there since 1985.

The house traces back to 1973, when its founders' collaboration won the Leather Industry of America design award for personal leather goods.
